Water Diet
A water diet can mean a great number of things. Some people follow water diets that are actually weight loss fasts; they drink water, maybe with a few additional spices or splashes of juice added to the water, and skip food entirely. Some water diets combine large amounts of water with a certain food, like tuna and water diets. The idea behind the diets is all the same, though. Water diets drastically cut your calories for rapid weight loss. Whether or not you’re losing actual pounds or just dropping water weight is open to debate, but there is no denying a water diet can help you trim down quickly before a big event. Some water diets also claim to detox your system to optimize your weight loss potential. The jury is still out on that one as well, but a fast water diet can be the kick in the pants some people need to get their weight loss plan on track.
Types Of Water Diets
Fasting on water for weight loss is the most common kind of water diet. Most water weight loss diets want you to add something to your water, which the diets claim will increase your weight loss. For instance, supposedly, water with lemon for weight loss is the ideal combination. Some detox water diets, like the Lemonade diet, want you to add maple syrup and cayenne pepper to your lemon and water. Detox water and fruit diets are also popular; on these diets, you will either eat a certain kind of fruit with your water, or you will add fruit juice to your water. Do Water Diets Work? Everyone agrees that water helps people to lose weight; however, existing entirely on a diet of water may only lead to water weight loss. Water diets will cause you to slim down. When you go off the water diet, you will gain some weight back, even if you go from the water diet to another diet plan. They’re better to drop some quick pounds for a special event than they are for sustainable weight loss. If you have to get into the swimsuit for a special pool party, though, a water diet can be just the ticket.
