Low Carb Diet
A low carb diet is designed to reduce the amount of carb sugars that would turn to fat. A low carbohydrate diet usually consists of a few different stages or phases. Phase one of certain types of low carb diet plans usually involves what some dieters and experts would refer to as the induction phase. This is the period of time in a low carb diet when the dieter would be restricted from most types of carbs. This so-called induction phase would usually last approximately two weeks. This is usually the time of greatest weight loss for low carb dieters. After the induction phase there are about three different phases that a low carb dieter would go through in order to reach an ideal maintenance weight. The two phases after the induction phase usually involve allowing more and more carbs until the dieter has reached an ideal carb level (the amount of carbs that can be eaten without weight gain). A person on a low-carb diet may regulate the intake of carbs from time to time when necessary to get back to the ideal weight.
Those who are on a low carb diet can find countless resources on the Web regarding specific diet foods to eat. Some of these high in protein, while others are high in vitamins and minerals.
Meals that are often cooked that are low-carb include broiled fish, pan fried or grilled meats, meat and veggie stir fry dishes, pasta alternatives (i.e. cauli-rice), and low carb chicken pot pie. Some people who are on this type of diet may also try making a quiche without the crust. Additional Low Carb Tips Many Thai foods are considered low carb if the rice or noodles are not included.
